COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho - A teen trying to rob an espresso stand in northern Idaho met his match in a gun-toting barista.
Police say the 17-year-old confronted Sunshine Espresso owner Michelle Cornelson with a gun Wednesday morning, demanding all her money.
Cornelson has been hunting since she was a girl and says she remained calm as a customer pulled up to the other side of her kiosk in Coeur d'Alene, distracting the teen.
Cornelson quickly whipped out her 9mm Kel-Tec pistol, which was a Christmas present from her husband. That scared off the teen so Cornelson could call police.
A sheriff's deputy was nearby after picking up a beverage at the stand and caught the suspect. The teen was later taken to a juvenile detention center.

"Teen?" Is that newspeak? Because I don't consider robbery to be normal teenage behavior.

in Florida all business owners and managers are allowed to carry weapons,,,,no permit required,,,,,if your employer has a policy against it
you might be fired as a manager,,,but will not be in violation of the law.

You know, I'm not sure on the law on that in Idaho, but I do know that a permit is somewhat optional. You can be cited for carrying without a permit, but it's about the equivalent of a parking ticket. Even if she was carrying illegally, the cops would probably opt not to cite her.

My favorite part of this story is that the pistol was a Christmas present.

Merry Christmas!
